Kohanna is a 23-year-old artist blending indie-folk and Americana into a live show that’s equal parts storytelling, groove, and big-voice emotion. Rooted in honest writing and warm, textured instrumentation, her sound feels both timeless and modern: built for intimate listening rooms as much as full-band stages. Whether performing solo or backed by a five-piece band featuring violin, her sets are immersive, dynamic, and deeply human.

Originally raised between Virginia and Baltimore, Kohanna began performing at age 14, first taking the stage at the historic Cat’s Eye Pub in Baltimore’s Fells Point. Since then, she has played venues across the U.S., from hometown stages like NOVA Live to full-band performances at The Fox Theatre in Boulder, steadily developing a reputation for emotionally resonant and engaging live shows.

In 2025, Kohanna opened for touring acts including Steph Strings (1M+ following) and Tommy Newport (23K+ following), performing across Colorado in cities like Denver, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs. She has played for crowds of 350+ and continues to build a live experience centered around connection - blending emotionally driven originals with intentional pacing, memorable moments, and a band that brings both energy and musicality to the room.

Now based in Austin, Texas, Kohanna is quickly establishing herself in one of the country’s most well-known music scenes. She has performed at prominent venues including Stubb’s (Jesse Welles after-show), Austin Garden & Studio, Saturn ATX during SXSW, Cactus Cafe and the YETI Flagship Stage.

Her discography includes the full-length album Hometown (2021) and a growing catalog of singles including “Sweet Wine” (2023), “Dancing With June” (2022), “Moonlight” (2021), and 2025 releases “What I Would Give,” “I Always Knew,” “Miss America,” and “Jane,” “Card Games,” along with her 2026 single “The Waltzer.” In February 2026, she released her second full-length studio album, Colorado: Side A, with Colorado: Side B set for release in August 2026 as part of a larger multi-project rollout.

Her music has been featured in the Casting for Recovery film “The Jane Project: Carried by the Current” on tour with The Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T), the Austin article “The Barricade Collective”, Denver9News and Kinda Vague Radio 92.9 FM, and praised by A&R Factory for her “illuminatingly genuine” voice - with early comparisons to the debut-era presence of Lorde.

After studying songwriting in Nashville and earning a marketing degree in Colorado to build fluency in the business side of artistry, Kohanna relocated to Austin in 2025 to pursue a music career. Alongside her releases, she continues to expand her touring footprint across Texas and beyond, building a project that bridges strong artistic identity with intentional growth. All released music is self-written (unless specifically noted as a collaboration), and Kohanna is a multi-instrumentalist performing on guitar, piano, ukulele, and vocals.
